Lake Lou Yaeger is a man-made lake located in Montgomery County, Illinois, USA. It was created by the damming of the South Fork of the Macoupin Creek in 1962 and covers an area of approximately 1,400 acres. The lake is named after Lou Yaeger, who was a former mayor of the nearby city of Litchfield. The lake is a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities. It is also home to a marina, several public boat ramps, and multiple campgrounds and picnic areas. The lake is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
