Lake Tuscaloosa is a reservoir located on the Black Warrior River in western Alabama, near the city of Tuscaloosa. It was created in 1971 by the construction of a dam, and today it is the primary source of drinking water for the city of Tuscaloosa and its surrounding areas.
The lake covers an area of over 5,900 acres and has over 177 miles of shoreline. It is a popular spot for boating, fishing, and swimming, and there are several public boat ramps and fishing piers located around the lake.
