BoatRex Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BoatRex (“BoatRex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit BoatRex.com, create an account, publish or manage a listing, upload photos or media, contact a provider, purchase a paid service, or otherwise use our website and services (“Services”).
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
We collect information such as your email address, username, password (stored securely in hashed form), name, phone number, and other profile details. We also maintain records needed for account security, including email-confirmation status, password-reset tokens, and sign-in session information.
Listings and Boating Information
We collect information you submit about boats, marinas, storage facilities, dealers, brokers, service providers, and bodies of water. This may include descriptions, specifications, pricing, availability, location, contact details, and other boating-related information.
Images and Uploaded Media
When you upload photos or media, we collect the files and related information such as the original file name, file type, and upload date. BoatRex generates resized versions for display and stores media in a boat-specific directory. Metadata may include image identifiers, display order, primary-image settings, and deletion status. Images used in public listings may be publicly accessible and may remain cached by browsers or third parties after removal.
Communications and Inquiries
If you contact a listed business or user through BoatRex, we collect the information you submit, including your name, email address, phone number, message content, and related timestamps. We forward your inquiry to the intended recipient and may retain a copy for support and security purposes.
If you request a listing or price alert, we collect your email address, selected search criteria, alert type, consent source and time, delivery status, and unsubscribe status. We use this information to send the specific alerts you requested, such as new matching boats, houseboat listings, or price changes.
Payment and Subscription Information
Paid features are processed by third-party payment processors. These providers collect and process payment details under their own privacy policies. BoatRex does not store full payment-card numbers. We may receive and retain information such as customer identifiers, subscription status, invoice details, payment amounts, renewal dates, and limited payment-method information.
Usage and Technical Information
We may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps. We may also record certain feature-usage activity, such as link-sharing clicks. When you enter an address for a listing, a third-party mapping service may process the address to generate approximate coordinates.

We may share information:

BoatRex uses secure authentication methods to protect accounts. Passwords are stored using one-way hashing and cannot be viewed in readable form. Email confirmation is required before sign-in. If BoatRex adds additional sign-in options or identity providers in the future, this Policy will be updated.
5. Cookies and Session Data
BoatRex uses cookies necessary to operate the Services, including cookies that keep you signed in and support account security. Disabling essential cookies may prevent certain features from working. BoatRex does not currently use third-party advertising cookies.
6. Third-Party Services
BoatRex uses third-party providers to support the Services, including:
- Payment processors
- Email delivery providers
- Mapping services
- Hosting and infrastructure providers
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. If BoatRex introduces additional third-party integrations, this Policy will be updated.
7. Data Retention
We retain information as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Services, maintain accounts and listings, complete transactions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and maintain security.
When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it. Backup copies may persist until overwritten through normal backup cycles.
8. Your Choices and Deletion Requests
You may edit or remove information through your account and listing controls. Every BoatRex alert email includes preference and unsubscribe links. Unsubscribing stops future delivery for that alert; we may retain a limited suppression and consent record to honor your choice and prevent unwanted resubscription. You may also request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting us at TheCrew@BoatRex.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Data Security
BoatRex uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted connections, secure password storage, session protections, access controls, and limits on uploaded file types and sizes.
10. Children’s Privacy
BoatRex is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to object to certain processing; or to appeal our response.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as BoatRex evolves. We will post updates here and revise the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice as required by law.
