About this destination
Lake Saracen is a man-made lake located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. It was created in the early 1900s by damming up the Bayou Bartholomew, the longest bayou in the world, and was officially known as the Saracen Water Works Reservoir.
The lake covers an area of around 1,600 acres and is approximately 10 miles in length, with an average depth of 8 feet. It is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and other water sports, and is home to a variety of fish including catfish, crappie, and bass.
The lake is surrounded by a 119-acre park, the Saracen Lake Park, which offers a variety of amenities such as picnic areas, playgrounds, walking and running trails, and fishing piers. The park also features a disc golf course, a dog park, and a boat launch ramp.
Lake Saracen is an important source of drinking water for Pine Bluff, and its water is treated at the Saracen Water Treatment Plant before being distributed to residents and businesses throughout the city.
