The lake is stocked with fish and is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and other water activities. Residents of the Desert Harbor community have access to the lake and its amenities, including dock and boat rentals, while non-residents can enjoy it with a daily or annual pass. The lake is also home to a variety of wildlife, including ducks, geese, herons, and turtles.
