Horseshoe Reservoir is a man-made lake located in the Verde River in Arizona. It is situated approximately 50 miles northeast of Phoenix in the Tonto National Forest. The reservoir was created in 1946 with the construction of the Horseshoe Dam. The lake is quite large, covering 2,880 acres, and has a shoreline of about 28 miles. It's a popular spot for fishing, boating, and camping. Visitors can expect to find largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and rainbow trout in the lake. The reservoir is also surrounded by stunning scenery, including steep canyons and diverse wildlife.
