San Carlos Lake is a large reservoir located in Gila County and Graham County in the southeastern part of Arizona, United States. The lake is formed by the San Carlos Dam on the Gila River. It was created in 1928 to provide irrigation water for farming in the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. The lake spans an area of 19,500 acres and is 5 miles long. It is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping. Visitors can catch a variety of fish including bass, catfish, crappie, and walleye. The lake is also home to various wildlife species, including bald eagles, ospreys, coyotes, and bighorn sheep.
