Flatiron Reservoir is a small reservoir located in Larimer County, Colorado. It is situated on the eastern slope of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, approximately 15 miles west of Fort Collins. The reservoir was created in 1951 by the construction of a dam on the Cache la Poudre River, and it has a capacity of 6,400 acre-feet.
Flatiron Reservoir is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping. The reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout, brown trout, and kokanee salmon, and fishing is allowed from boats as well as from the shore. The reservoir also has a boat ramp and a marina where visitors can rent boats and kayaks.
The surrounding area is home to several campgrounds, including a group camping area that can accommodate up to 125 people. There are also several picnic areas and hiking trails in the area, including the Foothills Nature Trail, which offers scenic views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains.
