Horsetooth Reservoir is a popular outdoor recreation destination located west of Fort Collins, Colorado. It was created in 1949 by the construction of the Horsetooth Dam on the Cache la Poudre River. The reservoir has a surface area of 6.5 square miles and a maximum depth of 180 feet.
Horsetooth Reservoir offers a variety of recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing. The reservoir is home to a variety of fish species including walleye, smallmouth bass, and trout.
