Pass Lake is a small remote lake located in southwestern Colorado, around 17 miles southwest of the town of Pagosa Springs. It is situated at an elevation of 9,750 feet above sea level and covers an area of approximately 6 acres. The lake is surrounded by dense forests and alpine meadows, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife.
Pass Lake is popular for its excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for trout. The lake is regularly stocked with rainbow trout by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department, making it a popular destination for anglers. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, camping, and wildlife viewing in the area.
The lake is accessible by a forest service road that can be accessed by high-clearance vehicles only. Visitors are advised to check current road conditions before visiting and to be prepared for backcountry camping
