Lower Bolton Lake is a scenic lake located in the town of Bolton, Connecticut. It is a popular spot for outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, boating, swimming, and kayaking. The lake covers approximately 172 acres and has a maximum depth of 39 feet. It is fed by several small streams and has an outlet at the northern end that flows into the Tankerhoosen River. Fish species in the lake include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, and black crappie. The lake is stocked annually with trout by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. There is public access to the lake at the state-owned Lower Bolton Lake Boat Launch on Notch Road. The launch includes a boat ramp and parking area for vehicles and trailers. There are also picnic areas and a swim beach nearby for visitors to enjoy.
