Lake Manatee is a man-made reservoir located in Manatee County, Florida, United States. The lake covers an area of approximately 2,400 acres and is situated about 15 miles east of the city of Bradenton. It was created in the early 1960s by the damming of the Manatee River for the purpose of providing water for the surrounding region.
The lake is a popular spot for fishing and boating enthusiasts, with largemouth bass, bluegill, and catfish among the most commonly caught fish species. The lake is also a source of drinking water for the residents of Manatee County.
