Lake Sugema is a 574-acre lake located in the northeast corner of Van Buren County in southeast Iowa. The lake was created in 1962 when a dam was constructed across Lick Creek. It offers fishing, boating, camping, and other recreational activities. Lake Sugema State Park is located on the lake's eastern shore and offers amenities for camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing. The lake is stocked with fish species like crappie and largemouth bass, making it popular among anglers. In winter, the lake also provides ice fishing. The park is open year-round, however, some amenities may not be available during winter months
