About this destination

Kinkaid Lake is a reservoir located within the Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, USA. It covers an area of 2,750 acres (11 km²) and has a maximum depth of 80 feet (24 m). The lake is popular for fishing, boating, and water sports, and is home to a variety of fish species including largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. There are several boat ramps and marinas around the lake, as well as camping and picnic areas. Kinkaid Lake also hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year.
