Sangchris Lake is a 3,022-acre reservoir located in Christian and Sangamon counties in Illinois. The lake was formed in 1964 when the South Fork of the Sangamon River was dammed, and it is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and hiking. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. There are multiple campgrounds and picnic areas around the lake, as well as boat ramps and hiking trails. The lake is located about 20 miles southeast of Springfield, Illinois.
