Rough River Lake is a reservoir located in Breckinridge, Grayson, and Hardin counties in Kentucky. It was created in 1959 by impounding the Rough River with the Rough River Dam. The lake has a surface area of approximately 5,000 acres and a maximum depth of 62 feet. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. The lake is known for its abundance of bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill. There are several campgrounds and marinas along the lake, as well as several hiking trails. The Rough River Dam State Resort Park is also located on the lake and offers lodging and dining options.
