Shelby Lake is a man-made lake located in Shelby County, Kentucky. It was created in the early 1950s by the construction of a dam on Clear Creek. The lake covers an area of 150 acres and has a shoreline of approximately 9 miles. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and camping. The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. There are several public access points to the lake, as well as a campground, picnic area, and beach. The lake is managed by the Louisville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
