About this destination
Little Seneca Lake is a man-made lake located in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is part of the Little Seneca Creek watershed and is surrounded by the 6,300-acre Black Hill Regional Park. The lake was created in the early 1980s as part of the Upper Montgomery County Reservoir Project to provide drinking water for the county. Today, the lake is used for fishing, boating, kayaking, and other recreational activities. It is stocked with a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. The park surrounding the lake offers hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds. In the winter, the lake may freeze over and is used for ice skating and ice fishing.
