Wixom Lake
Michigan
About this destination
Wixom Lake is a reservoir located in Gladwin and Midland counties in Michigan, USA. It was created in 1925 by the construction of the Wixom Lake Dam on the Tittabawassee River. The lake is approximately 2,000 acres in size and has nearly 22 miles of shoreline. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and other water-based recreational activities. In May 2020, the dam failed due to heavy rainfall and caused catastrophic flooding, draining the lake and affecting thousands of residents and properties in the area. Efforts are ongoing to restore the lake and rebuild the dam.
