Lake Ferguson is a man-made lake located on the Mississippi River on the border of Mississippi and Arkansas in the United States. It was created in 1928 when the river was dammed to generate electricity for Greenville, Mississippi.
The lake is approximately 22 miles long and covers 12,700 acres. It is a popular destination for fishing and boating, with a variety of fish species including catfish, crappie, and bass.
The lake is also home to several boat ramps, camping areas, and picnic facilities. Visitors can enjoy wildlife watching, hiking, and birding, with a variety of species including eagles, herons, and gulls.
The lake is named after James W. Ferguson, a former president of the Delta Council who advocated for the project. It is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is a part of the Mississippi River system.
