Lake Hickory is a man-made lake located in Catawba County, North Carolina. It was created in 1927 by the damming of the Catawba River. The lake covers an area of 4,223 acres and has over 105 miles of shoreline.
The lake is a popular destination for boating, fishing, water sports, and camping. It is home to a variety of fish species, including bass, crappie, white and black perch, and catfish.
Lake Hickory is also surrounded by parks, hiking trails, and recreational areas. The Hickory Metro Convention Center and the Hickory Museum of Art are also located nearby.
