Lake Townsend is a 1,542 acre reservoir located in Guilford County, North Carolina. It was created in 1978 by the city of Greensboro by damming the northern branch of the Lake Townsend Creek. There is also a public boat ramp and a sailing center where visitors can rent sailboats, canoes, and kayaks.
