About this destination

Tuckertown Lake is a reservoir located in Davidson and Montgomery counties in central North Carolina. It was created in 1962 by the Yadkin River Dam and is operated by the Alcoa Power Generating Company. The lake covers approximately 2,560 acres and has a shoreline of about 49 miles. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, and camping. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and striped bass. There are several public access areas around the lake, including Tuckertown Reservoir Boat Launch, Flat Swamp Access Area, and Tillery Fishing Access Area. Camping and RV facilities are available at Tuckertown Campground.
