Holmes Lake is a recreational lake located in the southeastern part of Lincoln, Nebraska. It is about 75 acres in size and was created by a dam on Antelope Creek. The lake is popular for fishing, boating, hiking, and picnicking. It is also home to a variety of wildlife, including ducks, geese, herons, and occasionally bald eagles. The lake has a 3.6-mile loop trail that goes around the perimeter of the lake, providing scenic views of the water and surrounding woods. There are also numerous picnic areas, playgrounds, and a disc golf course near the lake. The lake is open year-round, and fishing is allowed with a valid Nebraska fishing license.
