About this destination
Lonergan Reservoir is a 130-acre reservoir located in the Sandhills region of Nebraska, approximately 18 miles north of Mullen. It was created by the construction of a dam on the Middle Loup River in 1948, primarily for irrigation purposes. The reservoir is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping. The water is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, and crappie. The surrounding area is also known for its scenic beauty, with rolling hills and grassy plains that attract wildlife such as deer, antelope, and migratory birds.
