Minatare Lake is a man-made reservoir located in Scotts Bluff County in western Nebraska, United States. It was created in 1914 by damming the North Platte River for irrigation purposes and flood control.
The lake covers an area of 2,158 acres and has a maximum depth of 63 feet. It is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and hiking. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish, including walleye, catfish, and bass.
There are several recreational areas around the lake, including the Minatare State Recreation Area, which offers camping, picnicking, and water activities. The Oregon Trail, a historic route used by pioneers in the 19th century, runs alongside the lake and offers a scenic hiking trail.
