Sutherland Reservoir is located in southwestern Nebraska, about 9 miles southwest of the town of Sutherland. It is a man-made lake that was created by the construction of the Kingsley Dam on the North Platte River in the late 1930s. The reservoir covers about 3,000 acres and has a maximum depth of about 90 feet. It is a popular destination for fishing, boating, swimming, and camping, with several campgrounds located around the lake. The reservoir is stocked with a variety of fish, including walleye, catfish, and bass, and is also home to a variety of waterfowl and other wildlife.
