Lake Carlsbad is a man-made lake located on the Pecos River in Carlsbad, New Mexico. It was created in 1934 by the construction of a dam on the Pecos River. The lake is 11 miles long and 200 feet deep and covers an area of 1,250 acres. It is used for recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and camping. The lake is also home to the annual Carlsbad Mayor's Triathlon and the Pecos Valley Classic Bass Tournament. The surrounding area has several parks, walking trails, and picnic areas for visitors to enjoy.
