Ute Lake is a reservoir located in northeastern New Mexico, near the town of Logan. It was created in 1963 by the damming of the Canadian River. The lake has a surface area of 8,200 acres and is popular for fishing, boating, camping, and other outdoor recreation. The lake is known for its walleye and bass fishing, and also offers opportunities to catch catfish, crappie, and sunfish. There are several campgrounds and picnic areas along the shores of the lake, as well as hiking trails and wildlife viewing areas. Ute Lake State Park is the main recreation area on the lake, offering camp sites, cabins, and rental boats.
