Washoe Lake

Washoe Lake is a natural lake located in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It is situated in the Great Basin and is part of the Washoe Lake State Park. The lake is approximately 8 miles north of Carson City, NV, and 15 miles south of Reno, NV. The lake is fed by a number of small streams and springs, and it is also a major source of water for the Truckee River. The lake is a popular destination for recreation, including fishing, boating, hiking, camping, birdwatching, and picnicking. It is also a critical nesting, migration, and breeding area for many species of birds and other wildlife.
