Hoover Reservoir is a large drinking water reservoir located in Delaware County and Franklin County in Ohio. It was created in the early 1950s by the construction of the Hoover Dam on the Big Walnut Creek. The reservoir provides a drinking water supply to over 700,000 Columbus, Ohio residents and is one of the largest reservoirs in the state of Ohio. It covers an area of about 2,953 acres and has a maximum depth of approximately 47 feet. The reservoir is popular for boating, fishing, bird-watching, and hiking, with several parks and nature reserves located around the shoreline.
