Prineville Reservoir is a reservoir located in the central part of the U.S. state of Oregon, within Crook County. It is the largest reservoir in the county, and is managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. The reservoir was created by the construction of the Bowman Dam on the Crooked River and is a popular destination for outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and wildlife viewing. It has a maximum depth of 190 feet, and stretches for approximately 14 miles, with a surface area of 3,030 acres. The reservoir is surrounded by scenic views of the Ochoco Mountains and various desert landscapes.
