There is a boat launch on the north side of the lake, where visitors can launch their boats or rent one from the nearby Octoraro Boats rental. Additionally, there is a picnic area with tables and grills, a playground, and several hiking trails around the lake.
Octoraro Lake is also part of the Octoraro Creek Watershed, which covers 305 square miles and includes multiple streams and tributaries that eventually flow into the Chesapeake Bay. The watershed is home to a variety of wildlife and plant species and provides important habitat for migratory birds.
