Lake Poinsett

Lake Poinsett is a natural lake located in eastern South Dakota, United States. It is situated about 8 miles north of the city of Arlington and approximately 30 miles northwest of Brookings. Lake Poinsett covers an area of approximately 7,500 acres and has a maximum depth of around 17 feet. The lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, camping, and other outdoor activities. It is known for its excellent walleye, crappie, and perch fishing and is home to a variety of wildlife, including waterfowl, eagles, and pelicans. The Lake Poinsett State Park, located on the lake's eastern shore, offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including camping, hiking, and swimming.
