About this destination
Norris Lake is a reservoir located in northeastern Tennessee, United States. The lake was created by the construction of Norris Dam on the Clinch River in the mid-1930s and is named after Senator George W. Norris, who was instrumental in the creation of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), which built Norris Dam. Norris Lake covers over 34,000 acres and has more than 800 miles of shoreline, making it one of the largest and most popular lakes in the region. The lake is known for its crystal-clear water, great fishing opportunities, and wide range of recreational activities, including boating, swimming, hiking, and camping. There are multiple marinas and public access points for boaters, as well as several state parks and campgrounds located on or near the lake.
