About this destination

Old Hickory Lake is a reservoir located in northern Tennessee. It was created by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1954 by impounding the Cumberland River. The lake covers approximately 22,500 acres and has more than 440 miles of shoreline. It is a popular recreational area for fishing, boating, water skiing, camping, and hiking. The lake is named after President Andrew Jackson, who was nicknamed "Old Hickory" due to his tough and determined personality.
