Grapevine Lake is a man-made reservoir located in the north-central region of Texas, USA. It is located in the counties of Denton, Tarrant, and Dallas, and is situated north of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The lake was created in 1952 by the construction of the Grapevine Dam on Denton Creek, which is a tributary of the Trinity River. The lake has a surface area of 8,000 acres, a maximum depth of 60 feet, and a shoreline of 60 miles. Grapevine Lake is a popular recreational destination for boating, fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, and birdwatching. The lake is known for its scenic beauty, diverse wildlife, and excellent fishing opportunities for bass, catfish, and crappie.
