Lake Aquilla is a reservoir located in the central region of Texas, United States. It is located about 30 miles northeast of Waco and 60 miles south of Dallas. The lake was created in the 1980s by the Army Corps of Engineers as a flood control measure and is maintained by the USACE Fort Worth District. The lake covers an area of 6,880 acres and has a maximum depth of 79 feet. It is a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. The lake is also home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish.
