Lake Georgetown is a reservoir located in central Texas, USA, approximately 30 miles north of Austin. The lake was created in 1979 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers as part of a flood control project. With a surface area of 1,297 acres and a maximum depth of 85 feet, the lake provides recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and picnicking. It also serves as a water supply for the nearby cities of Georgetown and Round Rock. Lake Georgetown is surrounded by beautiful terrain, including limestone cliffs, prairies, and oak woodlands, and is home to various wildlife such as white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and waterfowl.
