Lake Lavon is a reservoir located in North Texas, in the northeastern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It was created in 1953 by the construction of the Lavon Dam on the East Fork of the Trinity River. The lake covers an area of 21,400 acres and has a maximum depth of 60 feet. It is a popular spot for fishing, boating, camping, and hiking, and is home to several species of fish including catfish, bass, and crappie. The lake also provides water supply for the cities of Dallas, Plano, and Richardson.
