Somerville Lake is a reservoir located in Lee and Burleson counties in east-central Texas, USA. It was created as a flood-control and water-storage project by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is part of the Brazos River Basin. The lake covers an area of 11,630 acres with a maximum depth of 38 feet and a shoreline length of 85 miles. Somerville Lake offers a variety of recreational activities including fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and picnicking. The lake is known for its excellent catfish, crappie, and white bass fishing opportunities. It is also home to a diverse range of wildlife, including bald eagles, white-tailed deer, western diamondback rattlesnakes, and coyotes.
