Utah
About this destination
Scofield Reservoir is a large man-made reservoir located in the Wasatch Mountains of central Utah. It is situated in Carbon County and is about 30 miles east of Spanish Fork. The reservoir was constructed in the early 1900s to provide irrigation water for local farmers and to support the region's mining industry. Today, it is a popular recreation area for boating, fishing, camping, and other outdoor activities. The reservoir covers more than 2,800 acres and has a maximum depth of about 50 feet. It is stocked with rainbow and cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, and other fish species. There are several campgrounds and day-use areas around the reservoir, as well as hiking and biking trails in the surrounding mountains.
