Lake Hattie Reservoir
Wyoming
About this destination
Lake Hattie Reservoir is a man-made reservoir located in southeastern Wyoming, just west of Laramie. It covers over 2,000 acres and has a maximum depth of 22 feet. The reservoir was created in 1950 by damming the Laramie River, and it serves as a popular recreation area for boating, fishing, and camping.
Anglers come to Lake Hattie Reservoir to catch rainbow trout, brown trout, kokanee salmon, and walleye. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department stocks the lake annually with rainbow and brown trout. Boats with electric trolling motors are allowed on the reservoir, but gasoline motors are prohibited.
The southern shore of the reservoir has a developed campground with 15 campsites that have picnic tables, fire rings, and access to vault toilets. There are also several picnic areas around the lake with shaded tables and grills.
In addition to fishing and boating, visitors to Lake Hattie Reservoir can enjoy hiking, wildlife viewing, and birdwatching. The reservoir is home to a variety of bird species, including great blue herons and bald eagles.
