Leigh Lake is a large alpine lake located in Grand Teton National Park in western Wyoming. It is situated at an elevation of 6,838 feet above sea level and covers an area of approximately 1,734 acres. The lake is surrounded by the Teton Range and is fed by numerous creeks and streams.
Leigh Lake is a popular destination for hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and camping. There are several backcountry campsites located around the lake that can be accessed via hiking trails. Canoe and kayak rentals are also available at the lake.
One of the most popular hikes in the area is the Leigh Lake Trail, which is a 3.7-mile round trip hike that starts at the String Lake Picnic Area and takes visitors along the eastern shore of the lake.
Leigh Lake is also home to a variety of wildlife, including moose, elk, and black bears. Visitors should always be cautious and aware of their surroundings when hiking and camping in the area.
