Lake Salvador is a large, freshwater lake located in Jefferson and St. Charles Parishes in Louisiana, United States. It covers an area of approximately 47,000 acres and is part of the Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary. The lake is fed by the Mississippi River and several smaller tributaries, and was formed by the construction of a levee system in the 1930s. Lake Salvador is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, with popular species including largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and more.
