Oologah Lake is a reservoir located in northeastern Oklahoma, United States. It was created in the 1960s by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a flood control and water supply project. The lake covers around 29,500 acres and has over 200 miles of shoreline. It is located in Rogers and Tulsa counties, and is managed by the Tulsa District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Oologah Lake offers a variety of recreational activities, including boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming. There are several campgrounds and day-use areas located around the lake, as well as a marina, beaches, and boat ramps. Popular fish species in the lake include catfish, bass, and crappie.
In addition to its recreational activities, Oologah Lake also serves as a major source of drinking water for several communities in northeastern Oklahoma. The lake provides water to the cities of Tulsa, Owasso, Claremore, and Collinsville, as well as several smaller towns in the area.
